Justyna Bugajczyk
UKWIAŁ

is a multidisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles, working across photography, ceramics, and spatial installation. Born in Poland, she earned her BA in printmaking and an MA in photography from Film School in Łódź.

Bugajczyk’s practice is marked by a deep sensitivity to the emotional resonance of materials and spaces. Whether through photography or clay, she investigates how memory, identity, and landscape intertwine - and what happens when we cross the boundaries between the self and the other, the living and the forgotten.

Objects in her practice are never just objects - they are witnesses, remnants, or silent participants. Her creations often hover at the boundary between intimacy and estrangement, evoking the tension of entering someone else’s world.

Her projects have been exhibited internationally, including in LA, Berlin, Copenhagen, Paris, and Warsaw. She is the author of the photobook “Helotyzm, czyli przestrzeń zawłaszczona” (“Helotism, or Appropriated Space”).
